PROPOSED ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS TO: ERF 2856 BEING AT 185 BURGER STREET, PIETERMARITZBURG, 3201

We acknowledge receipt of your application for a permit to carry out work on the above property.  The KZN Amafa and Research Institute (The Institute) reconsidered the application on 20 March 2024. The committee noted that 

1. Plans uploaded are insufficient, the client must upload a full set of coloured and numbered plans including elevations, a floor plan, window and door schedule and a site plan.
2. Proof of accreditation/SACAP registration, of the architect or person, who drew the plans, is necessary.
3. Clarify materials that is going to be used: for instance is the deck going to include a corrugated iron roof, or which materials will be used?
4. What materials are going to be used for the front room?
5. Clarify the proposal: methods and materials used for all alterations since the house is a Cape Dutch Revival Style house from the Union Period and there is a streetscape present. Mitigation measures must be included to ensure minimum intervention and reversibility.
