Proposed Hard Rock Agricultural Development on a Portion of Farm 715, Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, as well as a Water Pipeline on Portion 2 and 3 of Farm 191 and Remainder of Portion 2 of Farm 189, in the Sundays River Valley Municipality, Eastern Cap

The Applicant, JN Venter Beleggings Trust proposes the establishment of citrus orchards and annual crops including associated infrastructures (roads, laydown areas and irrigation infrastructures) and a water storage dam on Farm 715 Division Uitenhage. The proposed development will be known as Hardrock Citrus and will be approximately 325 hectares in extent. In order to convey irrigation water to the proposed development, an irrigation pipeline (~500mm in diameter) is proposed from the farm known as Umzi Wabanu (owned by the Applicant) to the project site on (Portion 2 and 3 of Farm 191 and Remainder of Portion 2 of Farm189). The project area is located approximately 14km from the town of Uitenhage on the border of the Sundays River Local Municipality and the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality.
