Notice is hereby given, in terms of the National Environmental Management Act (Act No. 107 of 1998) and the “Norm for the Exclusion of the Development and Expansion of Solar Photovoltaic Facilities in Areas of Low or Medium Environmental Sensitivity” (hereinafter refer to the Exclusion Norms) for the request to register the following project:

The proposed development of Momentous Highveld, a 240MW Solar Photovoltaic (PV) plant and 77 MW / 308 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) plant, connection lines, switching station and supporting infrastructure.

· Property description: the proposed development will be located on a portion of the remainder of portion 2, a portion of the remainder of portion 3, a portion of the remainder of portion 4, portion 11, portion 12, a portion of the remainder of portion 18, a portion of the remainder of portion 19, a portion of the remainder of portion 54 of the farm Varkenslaagte 119, Registration Division I.Q., Gauteng and a portion of the remainder of portion 1 of the farm Welverdiend 754, Registration Division I.Q., Gauteng.

· Extent: The footprint of the proposed development will be approximately 980 hectares.

· Applicant: Momentous Highveld (RF) (PTY) LTD

· Location: The site is located approximately 16 km South West of Carletonville, Gauteng (26°25'05.6"S; 27°16'42.8"E).

In terms of Regulation 5 of the exclusion norms (GN.R. 4558) all parties that may be affected need to be consulted on the proposed registration. Therefore, we kindly request your inputs on the request to register the project within 30 days from the date of this notice.
