Proposal Description
The proposed project entails the development of grid connection infrastructure which consists of 132kV single/double-circuit overhead power line with the associated infrastructure on the Remaining Extent of the farm Vlakplaats No. 375. A 400m wide (including temporary working area), grid connection corridor is being assessed for the placement of the powerline route. The length of the powerline is dependent on which alternative is authorised. The alternatives are detailed below:
Preferred route: ~3,29km in length.
Alternative route: ~7,78km in length.
Both power line routes are proposed to connect into the existing Eskom Everest Substations, one with a more northern route, the other with a more southern route. A service road beneath the powerline is required for maintenance purposes.
Province(s): Free State
