Grid Connection Infrastructure for Litha Solar PL 2 near Hennenman, Free State Province

The proposed project entails the development of grid connection infrastructure which consists of 132kV single/double-circuit overhead power line with the associated infrastructure. A 400m wide (including temporary working area), grid connection corridor is being assessed for the placement of the powerline route. The length of the powerline is dependent on which alternative is authorised. The alternatives are detailed below:
Preferred route: ~5.99km in length.
Alternative route 1: ~18.2km in length.
Alternative route 2: ~10.6km in length
The power line is proposed to connect the preferred alternative will commence at the on-site substation and connect to the proposed Phemelo Solar PV facility on-site substation. A service road beneath the powerline is required for maintenance purposes.
