Grid Connection Infrastructure for Middelpunt Solar PL 4 near Hennenman, Free State Province

The proposed project entails the development of grid connection infrastructure which consists of 132kV single/double-circuit overhead power line with the associated infrastructure on the The Remaining Extent of the farm Middelpunt No. 769. A 400m wide (including temporary working area), grid connection corridor is being assessed for the placement of the powerline route.
The length of the powerline is dependent on which alternative is authorised. The alternatives are detailed below:
Preferred route: ~5,42km in length.
Alternative route: ~6,41km in length.
Two grid connection options are being considered to connect the proposed Middelpunt Solar PV facility to the Eskom grid. The preferred alternative will commence at the on-site substation and connect to the Eskom Everest Substation. The alternative grid connection will commence at the on-site substation and will follow a southern route and also connect to the Eskom Everest Substation. A service road beneath the powerline is required for maintenance purposes.
