Proposal Description
The proposed project is for the upgrade of a bulk outfall sewer pipeline and the designing and construction of various tributary bulk sewer pipelines connecting to it, intended to support the Boksburg to Vlakplaats (Vosloorus) area. The proposed bulk outfall sewer pipeline upgrade will start at the south of Boksburg and end at Ekurhuleni Water Care Company (ERWAT) Vlakplaats Waste Water Treatment Works (WWTW) on the northwestern side of Vosloorus. The proposed bulk pipeline will run parallel to the existing 800mm to 1 050mm diameter sewer pipeline. The proposed sewer bulk pipeline will traverse the following Farms: Leeuwpoort, Rondebult, Vlakplaats as well as Klippoortje and its Agricultural Lots. The proposed bulk sewer pipeline entails a 250Ømm to 1 500Ømm High Density Poly Ethylene (HDPE) pipeline which is approximately 23.97 km (23 968m) in length and will discharge effluent from the Boksburg and Vosloorus areas to ERWAT Vlakplaats WWTW. The proposed development is situated within the City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan, Gauteng.
