Proposal Description
The development of electricity grid infrastructure (EGI) associated with the proposed Watt Solar PV Facility (GAUT 002/23-24/E3787) and the Witpoortjie Solar PV Facility (GAUT 002/23-24/E3788) is proposed by Witpoortjie Solar PV (Pty) Ltd on a site located near Brakpan in Gauteng. The grid connection solution will be known as Watt and Witpoortjie PV EGI Connection.
The infrastructure associated with the Watt and Witpoortjie PV EGI Connection will include:
» An 88kV Collector substation located on Remaining Extent of Portion 3 of the Farm Rooikraal 156.
» An 88kV double circuit OHL to connect the Collector substation to the Eskom Brenner-Finaalspan 88kV power line via a LILO connection (~3.3km in length and with a 36m servitude, to be assessed within a 150m wide assessment corridor).
» Access roads to substation site and service tracks (up to 4.5m wide) where no existing roads are available.
The Watt and Witpoortjie Solar PV EGI Connection is proposed on a site located ~10km southwest of Brakpan within the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, Gauteng. The corridor being investigated is proposed on the following properties:
» Remaining Extent of Portion 47 (a Portion of Portion 2) of the Farm Witpoortije (Farm 117)
» Remaining Extent of Portion 56 (a Portion of Portion 2) of the Farm Witpoortije (Farm 117)
» Portion 5 (a Portion of Portion 2) of the Farm Witpoortije (Farm 117)
» Portion 159 of the Farm Witpoortjie (Farm 117)
» Remaining Extent of Portion 3 of the Farm Rooikraal 156
