    Proposal Description
The purpose of this project is to refurbish the area around the graves of the victims of Sharpeville Massacre. The area around the grave has generally deteriorated. It is against this background that an intervention is needed. The site has been nominated by National Heritage Council for consideration as a World Heritage Site. The work will involve Clearing of old white stones on the ground and on the grave stones, stones to be dumped at the near police station. Re-alignment of the caps stones, broken caps will be replaces with new caps. Top soil to be removed, dug to 150mm deep. Exposed soil will be treated and levelled before concrete is poured. Ready mix concrete of 25Mpa strength will be poured on the ground around the grave yards.
Caps on the edges of the paths will be re-aligned and fixed properly against the new concrete. New stones will be placed on top grave yards. All head stones will be cleaned and cleared before we leave the site. All top soil removed will not be taken out of the grave yard, we will repurpose the soil inside the graveyard.
