Proposed Development of the Proposed Ash to Carmel MTS Powerline Project Infrastructure to be Located near Potchefstroom, in the North West Province and Carletonville in Gauteng the Province

A power line grid connection must be authorised to include the following project components:
An approximately 40km grid connection corridor
Capricorn IPP Substation & Eskom Switching Station;
Sagittarius IPP Substation & Eskom Switching Station;
Scorpio IPP Substation & Eskom Switching Station;
Taurus IPP Substation & Eskom Switching Station;
A Main Collector Substation;
4 x Single / double circuit overhead power lines of up to 132 kV will link each of these four sites to a proposed Main Collector Substation;
The Main Collector Substation will connect via 2 x 132kv single circuit overhead power lines to Carmel MTS;
Maintenance and service road of between 4-6 m within the route corridor.

Both underground and/or overhead cabling between project components of up to 132 kV is considered.
