Interim Comment

The Development Applications Unit (DAU) notes the submission of the Final BAR and the Palaeontological Impact Assessment (PIA). However, a complete assessment of heritage resources in terms of section 38(3) was not undertaken. The PIA report does not constitute a full assessment of all types of heritage resources, as such, the SAHRA is requesting the submission of a heritage impact assessment or a letter of exemption from undertaking a heritage assessment by a suitably qualified archaeologist.
