Rietfotein S102 Banana Republic inclusion

Application for Environmental Authorisation submitted in support of the application for a Section 102 Mining Right Amendment for the Mining of Coal.

This application is submitted in terms of section 102 of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act, 28 of 2002 ("MPRDA") and seeks approval for the extension of the Izimbiwa Coal Proprietary Limited ("IC Mining Right") mining right bearing DMRE reference number MP 30/5/1/2/2/10331 MR and consisting of Portion 17 of the farm Rietfontein 314 JS ("IC Mining Right") and by adding the prospecting right portion (Portion 19 of the farm Elandspruit 291 JS) of the Banana Republic Prospecting Right application – prospecting right bearing DMRE reference number MP 30/5/1/1/2/13142 PR("BR Prospecting Right Application"), measuring 42.8 hectares in extent, and which portion of the immovable property is situated in the Middelburg Magisterial district of Mpumalanga Province.

Izimbiwa Coal Pty Ltd_Middelburg Rietfontein Colliery thus makes this application to amend the Izimbiwa Coal Mining Right by including the Banana Republic PR Section (Portion 19 of the farm Elandspruit 291 JS) from the BR Prospecting Right.

Izimbiwa Coal Pty Ltd is the owner of both the Mining Right MP 30/5/1/2/2/10331 MR and the Prospecting Right MP 30/5/1/1/2/13142 PR.

Activities proposed for the additional section to be incorporated will be for the continuation of open pit rollover mining.
