Application for a Permit for the alteration of Building A, 111 Mahatma Gandhi Complex, Point, Durban

Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) is in the process of rolling out the Port Masterplan, which also entails the refurbishment and alterations of buildings for the relocation of staff that is currently accommodated within operational areas, which are earmarked for port expansion activities.
The identified site is currently used as an office building for admin staff and is partially occupied by Transnet staff. The proposal is to refurbish the entire building to accommodate additional staff and also maintain the overall building.
The site is located at 111 Mahatma Gandhi Road and is Grade II Provincial Heritage Site in terms of Section 7 read with Section 58 (11) of the National Heritage Resources Act (No 25 of 1999).
