Proposed Butchering Analysis and Sampling of Bone Specimen from uMgungundlovu and esiKhlebheni, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

To ensure a high level of accuracy in the identification of the raw material and the type of butchering technology, the morphologies of the slice marks will be analyzed with a scanning electron microscope (SEM). Due to time constraints for laboratory analyses at Amafa, the sample will be exported to the University of Manitoba, silicone molds will be made of marks at the University of Manitoba, and the faunal sample will subsequently be transported back to Amafa.
