Interim Comment
The SAHRA, Development Applications Unit (DAU) acknowledges the submission of the EMPr and HIA report.
However, the SAHRA requests that the DEIA and its appendices be uploaded. In addition, according to the Palaeosensitivity Map available on the SAHRIS, the Palaeontological Sensitivity of the proposed development area is rated as very high. Therefore, a field assessment as part of a field-based Phase 1 Palaeontological Assessment is required.
The applicant is advised to extend the EA process in terms of section 19(1)b of the NEMA EIA regulations in order to address this comment. Further comments will be issued upon receipt of the above requested documents.
