Proposal Description
Salika SA (PTY) Ltd is proposing the development of a Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Energy Facility with a capacity of up to 1000MW and associated infrastructure on a site located in the Northern Cape and Western Cape. The purpose of the facility will be to provide electricity to a private o -taker via an overhead power line up 132kV connecting to Koring Substation (previously known as Merweville Substation).
-Solar PV arrays comprising PV panels
-Single axis tracking; Fixed axis tracking, Dual axis tracking and Fixed tilt mounting structures
-Inverters and transformers.
-Cabling between the arrays.
-Onsite facility substation.
-Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)
-Permanent laydown area.
-Operations and Maintenance (O&M) building, which will include a site security o ce, warehouse, storage
area and workshop.
-Main access road (existing – to be upgraded with hard surface) and internal (new) gravel roads.
-Fencing around the site, including an access gate.
-Panels Maximum height 2.5m
