Please be advised as follows: -

  1. The client is required to provide the KZN Amafa & Research Institute with an affidavit, stating why changes were made during the commencement of the work to make the building more functional, without obtaining a new permit for deviations - as this was one of the conditions in the owners' previous permit that was authorised per plan No. 358 06 07.

Written responses/requests for review of the decision taken must be received via email to [email protected] within 30 days of the date of this letter or any decision contained herein will be considered final.

Extensions of 30 days may be requested; if additional information is needed or revised drawings, these documents must be submitted within 6 months of the date of this letter or the application will lapse and a new application and fee to be paid, is necessary.

If public participation is necessary, the applicant will be notified of the level of public participation necessary: For development and demolition applications the neighbours, ward councillor and heritage societies must be contacted. Owners and residents within 100m must be consulted for demolition applications. All documents submitted is retained for record purposes and interested and affected parties may apply to view the applications.

THIS LETTER DOES NOT CONSTITUTE FORMAL APPROVAL OF THE PROPOSAL SUBMITTED TO THE INSTITUTE, UNAUTHORISED WORK CARRIED OUT ON THE ABOVE SITE WILL BE IN CONTRAVENTION OF THE KWA-ZULU NATAL AMAFA AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE ACT (5 of 2018)
