    Proposal Description
    The proposed Phefumula Emoyeni One 400kV grid connection (including MTS and substations) will have a project area of approximately 593.88 hectares (ha). Within this project area the extent of the buildable area will be subject to finalization based on technical and environmental requirements. A 300m corridor (150m on either side of centre line) will be assessed.
    The proposed Phefumula Emoyeni One 400kV grid connection and MTS is located approximately 16km north of Ermelo in the Msukaligwa Local Municipality and Gert Sibande District Municipality, in the Mpumalanga Province of South Africa
    The proponent is proposing the development of the Phefumula Emoyeni One 400kV grid and MTS in Mpumalanga. The project consists of the following infrastructure referred to as:
     X1 MTS = this will tie into the existing 400kV line via loop in loop out set-up with approx. 17.4Ha footprint.
     X3 DX = Distribution substations (one per each phase). The IPP substation will be constructed adjacent to the Dx subs.
     OHL = 33kV overhead power line from each Dx sub to the MTS (total length approx.18.2km)
    The focus of this Draft Scoping Report is the proposed Phefumula Emoyeni One (up to 400kV grid connection and MTS) project.
    The proposed project will be applied for under a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), and the Project Applicant is therefore Phefumula Emoyeni One (Pty) Ltd. The grid will be located over 10 farm portions.
