The applicant, Maruleng Local Municipality, proposes to establish a township consisting of 431 erven consisting of “residential 1” erven, “residential 3” erven, “business 1” erven, 1 erf for “institutional” creche, 1 erf for “institutional” community facility, 1 erf for “municipal”, 3 erven for “public open space” and “streets”. The site measures 33. 3549 ha in extent.
Lushika Services (Pty) Ltd (Lushika) has been appointed as the Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) to compile and apply for Environmental Authorisation (EA), by way of a Scoping and Environmental Impact Assessment (S&EIA) process. The process will be undertaken in terms of the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA), 1998 (Act No.107 of 1998) and the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations, 2017 (Government Notice Regulation (GN R) 982 of 2017) as amended. The Limpopo Economic Development, Environment & Tourism (LEDET) is the Competent CA) in respect of the application process.
