Proposal Description
SANRAL has identified the need to improve operational conditions on the existing N3 Toll Road between Harrismith (N3-7X km 35.5) and Warden (N3-8X km 21.5). Road operational conditions will be improved by the construction of 7 (seven) interchanges, widening of five bridges, widening of one major culvert and the linking of various properties to the newly constructed interchanges.
If approval is received, the construction project will require the utilization of various quarries / borrow pits to supply the necessary materials. The proposed Johns Rust Quarry is the first quarry that has been identified to provide some of the material that would be required.
