    Proposal Description
The scope of the Scoping Report will be to further discuss and quantify the impact associated with the addition of Bulk Sampling under this right. As it was not part of the initial Prospecting Right (Protocol No: 644/2023). The extent of the prospecting area is still 238,4940 hectares.
Phase 1: Geological desktop studies and surveys to try and identify the gravel run. Various geological maps and instruments will be used to identify if alluvial gravel deposits might be present on the application area. 6 months needed for phase 1.
Phase 2: Test pits which will be made on a grid of 100 x 100 meters and 50 x 50 m. It is envisaging that 200 test pits will be excavated. The applicant will assess the samples to identify if alluvial gravel deposits might be present on the application area. See Annexure 2: Map/Plan 1 (b) 1 – Infrastructure Map for detail of what the site looks like pre-prospecting. Only a small portion of the land will be impacted upon at any given time and land use on the rest of the area can proceed normally. Phase 2: 200 test pits - surface area: 3m x 2m = 6m² x 200 pits = 1’200m² or 0.12 ha, will be done over a period of 18 months.
Phase 3: Bulk Sampling will be done in the areas where the gravel was identified through test pits the quality, colour and depth need to be confirmed by means of bulk sampling. In the identified area a bulk sample will be removed. Trenching will be used to open the gravel to get a representative sample for testing. From these trenches the quality will be determined to confirm the viability of this project. 24 Months needed for phase 3.
PHASE 4: Final Geological Report will be completion after all test pits evaluation and final processing at all bulk samples were done. The qualified geologist will assemble all test results and evaluated the finding with the area applied for. A final geological report will be compiled to bear the results of all test work done and how feasible further applications for renewal or migration to a mining right will be. 6 Months is needed for phase 4.
