Please be advised as follows: -

  1. The heritage practitioner is required to specify the differences phases of the alterations and additions applied for, referring to

    - the scope of each phase and

    - the time frame linked to each phase.

    2. A close-out report will be needed, not later than 30 days, after the completion of the work.

    3. A permit form the KZN Amafa & Research Institute is valid for 3 years, thereafter a new application must be made.

    4. The permit will be published and plans authorised, once the client has paid for the scope of work stated as R4 500 000, 00 (it will be R5000 and Mrs. Khanyi Zondi, the Senior Administrator of the KZN Amafa & Research Institue will send an invoice. Proof of payment needs to be uploaded to the SAHRIS-system).

Written responses/requests for review of the decision taken must be received via email to [email protected] within 30 days of the date of this letter or any decision contained herein will be considered final.

Extensions of 30 days may be requested; if additional information is needed or revised drawings, these documents must be submitted within 6 months of the date of this letter or the application will lapse and a new application and fee to be paid, is necessary.

If public participation is necessary, the applicant will be notified of the level of public participation necessary: For development and demolition applications the neighbours, ward councillor and heritage societies must be contacted. Owners and residents within 100m must be consulted for demolition applications. All documents submitted is retained for record purposes and interested and affected parties may apply to view the applications.
