    Proposal Description
    Seelo Alpha Solar PV (RF) (Pty) Ltd, proposes the development of grid connection infrastructure for the authorised Seelo Alpha Solar PV Facility (DFFE ref.: 14/12/16/3/3/2/2343). The proposed Grid Connection Infrastructure is currently undergoing a registration process in terms of GNR 2313 of 27 July 2022.
    The grid connection infrastructure includes a 132 kV overhead power line and a 132kV switching substation to enable the evacuation of the generated electricity from the authorised solar PV facility to the national grid. The grid connection will be assessed within a 1.45 km long grid connection corridor. The preliminary corridor will be 100m wide, with the corridor extending to 450m wide in the area surrounding the proposed substation and 300m wide surrounding the connection point to the national grid. The preliminary grid connection corridor will be refined based on the outcome of the environmental sensitivity verification.
    The affected properties include Portion 2 of the Farm Rooipan No. 96 and, Portion 28 and Portion 29 of the Farm Welverdiend No. 97.
    The grid connection corridor is situated approximately 14 km northwest of the town of Carletonville and traverses two (02) Provinces. The corridor is situated within the Merafong City Local Municipality, West Rand District Municipality in the Gauteng Province and JB Marks Local Municipality, Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality in the North West Province.
