Interim Comment

The applications constitute a section 38 (1) application for approval as the powerline(s) exceeds 300m in length as per the NHRA Act 25 of 1999. As such SAHRA is providing response in terms of section 38 (2) with regards to these applications.

The information provided is not enough to determine if any heritage will be disturbed or damaged by the power line construction. In order to provide a decision in terms of section 38 (2) a or b a detailed description of the nature and extent of the development must be submitted, not half filled or unfilled documents.

Before any further communication with regards to this application is made, SAHRA requires the following information:

• Detailed project description which contains a description of the environment and/ or villages this power line will be constructed in and a description where and why the power line was commissioned.
