Proposed Lithuli Waste Water Treatment Works and Associated Infrastructure near Lithuli Village, Kwamhlanga, Mpumalanga

The Thembisile Hani Local Municipality (THLM) intends to construct a new Waste Water Treatment Works (WWTW) and associated outfall sewers in the Kwamhlanga area. The initial phase (Phase 1 – this application) will involve the construction of a 3 Mℓ/day Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR) WWTW with the capacity to be expanded to 15 Mℓ/day. The outfall sewer lines will range from 160mm to 450mm in diameter and will be approximately 5.48 km in length. Pipe bridges or trench excavations with concrete encasings will be used through the wetland/stream sections. The WWTW and outfall sewers will be situated on the Remainder of the farm Kwamhlanga 617 JR, Kwamhlanga, Mpumalanga.
