    Proposal Description
The proposed Ntabayenkunzi Piggery within 4ha will have 50 sows which breed on a weekly interval and sell at least 40-50 porkers/baconers every week to the market to meet the growing demand for pork meat. Given, that the facility will have 50 sows and 2 (two) boars, the Ntabayenkunzi piggery will be estimated to have 500 pigs or more with inclusion of growers.

For a 50 sow-unit production with two boars the production will require: A breeding shed where boars will be kept in the same as dry sows and gilts. Different pens will be used to keep boars and dry sows/gilts. 10 stalls for pregnant sows; A furrowing and weaner shed where furrowing for unit will require 15 crates for furrowing, and a weaners unit requiring at least seven (7) weaner pens; A growers and finishers shed about 6-7grower pens depending on the size; and quarantine house.

To complement this farming operation the proposed Ntabayenkunzi Piggery Farm will be within 4ha and entail the following:
Construction of (42mx 10m) boars and dry sows shed
Construction of (42mx 10m) furrowing and weaners shed
Construction of (42mx 10m) growers and finishers shed
Construction of (18mx8m) storage shed with office and ablution facilities
    Construction of (22mx10m) slurry dam
    Septic tank for ablution facilities
    Installation of borehole
Installation of perimeter fence along 4ha site boundary.

The farm will operate on a weekly batch system where all-in all-out system will be used in pork production and marketing. This means every week two sows will be mated or farrow, while various groups of slaughter pigs are weaned, moved to the relevant stages in their fattening and finishing cycles, or marketed and transported to the abattoir. All pigs irrespective of their weight at 22-24 weeks (120-150 day) will be sold to the abattoir.
