Referral Letter:
- The client must complete Form I and pay R10 000 for the rectification of illegal work and impact on graves: when clearance of vegetation took place, graves were discoverd and negatively affected by the clearance operation.
- In the HIA done by Mr Len van Schalkwyk mitigation clearly included phase II monitoring of both the Goodenough and Ngwadini pipeline alignments, when bush is being cleared and heritage such as informal graves are discovered, work must stop and the the Heritage Practitioner as well as the KZN Amafa & Research Institute must be informed for rescue purposes to ensure that heritage is not negatively affected during development, which was a mitigation condition that was not adhered to.
