Section 24G for expansion of Monwana Lodge in Thornybush Private Nature Reserve, near Hoedspruit, Limpopo Province

The pre-existing Monwana Lodge was redeveloped and expanded in 2021. Environmental Authorisation was obtained for part of the expansion prior to commencement, but this did not cover the full scope of the expansion, hence a Section 24G application for ex post facto EA is now being undertaken. The facility currently consists of 7 guest units, staff accommodation, communal facilities and associated infrastructure as described in the EIAR. Approximately 1.35ha was cleared, of which 1.31ha was unauthorised. The site is located on Portion 2 of the farm Tangala 87 KU, within the Thornybush Private Nature Reserve, near Hoedspruit, Maruleng Local Municipality, Limpopo Province
