THE PROPOSED UPGRADE OF BOMVINI GRAVEL ROAD PART A AND PART B LOCATED IN BOMVINI ADMINISTRATIVE AREA, WARD 35, WITHIN RAY NKONYENI LOCAL MUNICIPALITY, UGU DISTRICT, DC21, KWAZULU-NATAL

Indalo Yethu Consulting has been appointed by the Ray Nkonyeni Local Municipality through Mabalengwe
Engineers, as per regulation 12 (1) of the Environmental Impact Assessment regulations 2014 as amended, to
manage the application for an Environmental Authorization for the proposed upgrade of Bomvini Access Road in
Ward 35 of the Ray Nkonyeni Local Municipality in Bomvini Administrative Area in Kwa - Zulu Natal. The
application for Environmental Authorization will be lodged with Department of Economic Development, Tourism
and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), Ugu District (DC-21). This application follows an enquiry with the Department
with which this application is being lodged, revealing that Activity 19 within Listing Notice 1 of the Environmental
Impact Assessment Regulations is being triggered (reference DC21/SP/0005/2024). The Ray Nkonyeni Local Municipality situated within the Ugu District Municipality (DC 21) is proposing to upgrade
Bomvini Access Road (3.4 km). Bomvini access road is located within ward 34 of Ray Nkonyeni Local Municipality
and the name Bomvini Access Road originates from the name of the Administrative Area within which it is
located, namely Bomvini Administrative Area. The road is divided into two parts under the project scope, namely
Part A (2.37 km) & Part B (1.03 km) in Ray Nkonyeni Local Municipality within the Ugu District Municipality, Kwa-Zulu Natal.
