Proposal Description
The Elandspruit Pan Project, managed by Izimbiwa Coal (Pty) Ltd, is set to extend mining activities at the Graspan Extension Colliery, situated near Middelburg in the Mpumalanga Province. The colliery, originally operated by Shanduka Coal (Pty) Ltd, was acquired by Izimbiwa through a closed tender process in December 2020, with the official transfer of ownership completed in February 2022 following regulatory approvals.
The project site is located on Portion 31 of the Farm Elandspruit 291 JS, approximately 5 kilometers southwest of Middelburg, within the Witbank Coalfields.
