Modikwa Platinum Mine has appointed Archaeological and Heritage Services Africa (AHSA) to undertake test excavations for suspected graves buried under the Modikwa mine topsoil spoil heap, on the outskirts of Ga-Mamphahlane Village, within the Greater Tubatse Local Municipality of the Limpopo Province. The alleged graves (MMH1, MMH2 and MMH3) could be located at GPS Location- Lat: 24°37'19.70"S, Long: 30° 5'55.80"E, and Lat: 24°37'23.20"S, Long: 30° 5'52.10"E. 

They have also applied for the reduction of the 100m grave buffer zone around 2 burial grounds down to 10m due to the construction of the Modikwa Mine access road.
