Extension of electricity distribution at Forty Village, Confimvaba

Electrical re-distribution work is proposed for 6 households in Forty Village of Intsika Yethu Local Municipality, Eastern Cape. The proposed work is the installation of MV 3 Phase ACSR Fox conductor with a length of 1192.3m.An Environmental Impact Assessment does not apply to this project. The proposed project is the electrical distribution at Forty Village, which is under the jurisdiction of the Intsika Yethu Local Municipality.. The village is situated a 22km from Confimvaba central. The electrical distribution will be an extension from an already existing electrical distribution within the Forty Village households. The houses the distribution is proposed for are built on foothills of gentle slopes. Evidence of minor erosion was noted with a few dongas observed. The graveyard area was found to be not in vicinity with the proposed area of redistribution, hence there will not be a disturbance. From the assessment, Forty Village is not regarded as an environmentally sensitive area, thus minimal interaction with the environment. Therefore, proposed development will not be hindered
