Proposal Description
Dihlabeng Local Municipality intends to establish a gravel mine of about 1.25 Ha in
Fouriesburg on farm Glen Skye 121 in the Dihlabeng Local Municipality. The proposed gravel
mine is approximately 1 km east of Mashaeng, Fouriesburg. The objective of the gravel mine
is to provide Dihlabeng Local Municipality with gravel material to be used for special
maintenance purposes in Fouriesburg.
The applicant is thus hereby applying for a Mining Permit for the development of the
proposed gravel mine for a 2 year period from the Department of Mineral Resources (DMR)
with their offices in Welkom, Free State in accordance to Section 27 of the Mineral and
Petroleum Resources Development Act, 2002 (Act 28 of 2002).
