INTERIM COMMENT

1. The application was considered by the Provincial Heritage Authority, the KwaZulu Natal Amafa and Research Institute on 28 August 2024. 
2. The documents submitted in support of the application were reviewed including the HIA. 
3. The committee noted that there are graves that had been identified in the proposed development area also in the HIA provided. 
4. The committee noted the letter which has been submitted by one of the families. 
5. However, the committee noted that the public participation process was still outstanding and still need to be conducted. 
6. The application was therefore referred for further requirements pending proof of the public participation process which to be submitted.
