Proposal Description
In order to diversify and strengthen the national energy supply for South Africa a variety of energy storage facilities are being planned to help stabilise the energy supply. Epsilon Energy (Pty) Ltd. is proposing the establishment of the Epsilon Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) located on Portion 9 (RE) of Moedersgift 566 over a surface are of approximately 15ha. The proposed Epsilon Battery Energy Storage System, with a Maximum Export Capacity up to 150 MW and up to 600 MWh (4-hour) storage capacity.
