Proposal Description
In order to diversify and strengthen the national energy supply for South Africa a variety of energy storage facilities are being planned to help stabilise the energy supply. Rasalas Energy (Pty) Ltd. is proposing the establishment of the Rasalas Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) located on Portion 2 of Farm Bloemhoek 509 over a surface are of approximately 15ha. The proposed Rasalas Battery Energy Storage System, with a Maximum Export Capacity up to 150 MW and up to 600 MWh (4-hour) storage capacity.
