The permit application in respect of the above, received on the 30th of August 2024 reviewed by the KwaZulu-Natal Amafa and Research Institute (The Institute) on the 19th of September 2024 refers.
Please be advised as follows:
- The application was discussed however, the committee noted that the application was incomplete.
- The applicant is required to refer to the HIA that was previously submitted.
- The applicant is further required to submit a KML file mapping all the heritage resources that will be affected which is where the graves are located and their proximity to the mine, and the cemetery.
- There was no proof of public participation attached with this application, the applicant is required to submit proof of public participation with all relevant and affected parties which is the greater community.
- Additionally, stakeholder engagement meetings are required.
- Proof of consultation with the family members of the deceased is required.
- The application form for grave OP/103/01 needs to be corrected, the form that applies for this application is a form C.
Written responses/requests for reconsideration of the application or consideration of new information must be loaded to the case on Sahris (email [email protected]) within 30 days of the date of this letter or any requirements/decisions contained herein will be considered final. Extensions of this time frame can be requested upon receipt of motivation.
Required additional information or revised drawings must be submitted within six months from the date of this letter or the application will lapse and a new application will be required.
