Proposed Construction of housing units on the remainder of Erf 14817 Newcastle, Ncandu Area, Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal

The Newcastle Local Municipality intends on constructing housing units, together with associated facilities and infrastructure on the remainder of Erf 14817 Newcastle, within the Ncandu area located in the Newcastle Local Municipality, Amajuba District Municipality. The proposed housing development will include:
• Construction of approximately 30 social housing Units (flats) 40m² per unit which approximates 1200m² floor space
• approximately 65 units for medium density; Town houses vary in size (56,99m², 73,81m² & 84,03 m²) with 65 units total building space is 4550,25 m². – (subject to private developer)
• Serviced sites for 334 detached Housing Units (single dwellings), 1 creche and 1 Medium Impact commercial site
• 4 x Active Open Space sites
• 2 x Passive Public open Space sites
• Installation of pipelines for the transportation of water supply and waterborne sewage
• Construction of internal roads; length is approx. 4593,47m = 4,59km and the road size will cover approx. 68 195,80 m² = 6,8ha and stormwater infrastructure
