Laksman Energy Facility and Associated Grid Connection Corridor Project, Lejweleputswa District Municipality, Free State Province

Laksman Energy Facility (RF) (Pty) Ltd is proposing the development of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), known as Laksman Energy Facility and associated infrastructure as well as a single/double circuit 132Kv overhead powerline(s) (OHL), associated substations and access roads within the proposed Laksman Energy Grid connection corridor. The project occurs near Welkom in the Lejweleputswa District Municipality of the Free State Province The BESS will cover a surface area of 7ha, the substations will have a footprint of approximately 1.51 ha whilst the power lines will be assessed within a corridor with a width of up to 2.2 km and length of up to 10 km.
