PROPOSED NEW SANDSLOOT UNDERGROUND MINE SUBSTATION

The Mogalakwena Anglo American Platinum is an existing customer with 86 MVA and 53MVA Notified Maximum Demand (NMD) at PPRust 132/11kV 4x40MVA and Sandsloot 4x20MVA 132/11kV substation, respectively. Mudzunga Consulting was tasked by Vombe Environmental Consulting (Pty) Ltd to carry out a Phase 1 AIA/ HIA for proposed construction of New Sandsloot Underground Mine 132/33 kV Substation, and deviation of an existing Borutho PPRust North 132kV Powerline within Mogalakwena Local Municipality in Waterberg District, Limpopo Province. The proposed development entail the construction of 200M X 200M new Sandsloot Underground Mine 132/33 kV Substation to accommodate 6 x 80MVA 132/33kV transformers; Borutho PPRust North 132kV Powerline Deviation; and construction of a new access road.
