Thank you for submitting your application for the alterations as well as maintenance and restoration of the Owl House and Camel Yard located on Erf 306 in New Street, Nieu-Bethesda within the jurisdiction of Dr Beyers Naudé Local Municipality within the Sarah Baartman District Municipality, Eastern Cape Province in accordance with Section 27(18) of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999. The purpose of this permit application is for the maintenance and restoration of the interior and exterior walls, the bathroom and shed walls, moisture repair, the removal of the tree in the Camel Yard between the shed and the and the reservoir as well as repairs and waterproofing the roof. The proposed activity aligns with the statutory provisions intended to protect and conserve South Africa's national heritage resources.
