Panther Grid Connection Corridor

PROPOSED PANTHER GRID CONNECTION CORRIDOR ON THE FARMS WONDERKOP 15, VOORUITGANG 52 and NOOITGEDACHT 74, NEAR WELKOM, MATJHABENG LOCAL MUNICIPALITY, FREE STATE PROVINCE. The purpose of the power line is to feed the energy stored at the associated, authorised Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) facilities into the national grid via the Leander MTS. The access roads (west and east of the R730) will provide access to these BESS facilities. The following 6x BESS projects were authorised by the DFFE and will benefit by this Panther Grid Connection project: Phobos BESS Energy Facility and Associated Infrastructure project, Ganymede BESS Energy Facility and Associated Infrastructure project, Arial BESS Energy Facility and Associated Infrastructure project, Callisto BESS Energy Facility and Associated Infrastructure project, Haru BESS Energy Facility and Associated Infrastructure project and Ataru BESS Energy Facility and Associated Infrastructure project.
