The National Environmental Management Act, Act No. 107 of 1998 (NEMA 1998) Section 24G application is for the regularisation of the unlawful construction of the Kingston and Silverstream dams, a weir, stream crossing in a natural watercourse, and the laying of a pipeline within 32m of the embankment of a watercourse in 2005 and 2006. The purpose of the development is the irrigation of some 38ha of agricultural fields.
