    Proposal Description
The proposed project entails the installation of water pipelines (160-250mm diameters) along Sea Glade and Canal Roads, and sewer pipelines (between 110 – 160mm in diameter) along Grand Camore Street, Mayote Circle Place and La Dique Place and 2 new sewer pumpstations.
As part of the KLM’s efforts to minimise water losses, the existing old and leaking water reticulation (mainly asbestos cement pipes) was identified as a significant contributor to water losses due to leakages and pipe failures. The KLM therefore intend to replace the existing asbestos cement water mains along Sea Glades Drive, Canal Road and Lyme Road South with new pipelines.
Portions of St Francis Bay are still serviced by conservancy tanks, which require additional resources relating to operational requirements of servicing these erven, especially during the peak holiday periods. The KLM has therefore embarked on a process of replacing the conservancy tanks with waterborne sanitation.
The KLM therefore intends to extend the existing sewer reticulation network in St Francis Bay along Grand Comore Street, Mayote Circle Place and La Dique Place with the construction of a new sewer reticulation network and sewer pumpstation.
The proposed St Francis Water and Sewer Infrastructure is located in a highly transformed environment, within in the developed area of the Marina Glades in St Francis.
The proposed upgrading of the St Francis Water Infrastructure will be located on Erven 2844, 1466, 1355, 68, 1447 Sea Vista and Sewer Infrastructure located on Erven 943, 1279, 1259, 722 Sea Vista in Ward 12 in the Kouga Local Municipality (KLM), Sarah Baartman District Municipality, Eastern Cape.
