The Development Applications Unit (DAU) cannot process this application without further information and clarity regarding the report submitted to this case named Graves Identification South 3 Site Visit. It is not clear whether this report was undertaken by a heritage specialist. The report does not conform to section 38(3) and the SAHRA 2007 Minimum Standards for Impact Assessment guideline document. What is worse is that it is not clear whether these identified graves were assessment in the HIA report.
The HIA report must be amended to speak to this and assess any additional sites identified.
The SAHRA will provide further comments once this amended report is submitted to the case for processing.
