Proposal Description
SACE Projects (Pty) Ltd. plans to develop, construct and operate a Solar PV facility, located approximately 4 km
north of Benoni in the Gauteng Province. The project site is situated in situated within Ward 25 of the of
Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality. The development will be on the Remaining Extent of the Farm Putfontein
26 IR, East Rand region of Gauteng. The anticipated lifespan of the Solar PV Facility is 25 years and construction
is anticipated to be between 8 and 14 months.
The proposed Ravenna Solar PV facility will have a total output of up to 10-20 MW. The Solar PV facility will also
include a powerline in order to connect the Solar PV facility to the existing Eskom Substation (this will be applied
for in a separate environmental application). The Solar PV facility will also include temporary and permanent
laydown areas, and access roads and a construction compound (CC) area. The extent of the proposed
development area is approximately 17.3ha
