Interim Comment: 

The following comments are made as requirement in terms of section 24(4)b(ii) of NEMA and section 38(8) of the NHRA: 

• The SAHRA DAU has noted the submitted specialist reports and recommendations therein. However, a BAR or EIA report is required.
• The proposed development footprint has a very high PalaeoSensitivity in terms of the PalaeoSensitivity Map. As such, a field-based Palaeontological Impact Assessment (PIA) must be undertaken by a qualified palaeontologist. The report must comply with the 2012 Minimum Standards: Palaeontological Components of Heritage Impact Assessments. 
• A BAR or EIA report will be required, along with appendices for evaluation.
• Further comments will be issued upon submission of additional document(s).
