Drawn by Bowler from a sketch taken on the spot as described in the title.A view of H.M.S. Southampton covering the landing of part of the 25th & 27th regiments at Port Natal on Sunday 26th June 1842, to relieve the detachment under Capt. Smith of the 27th regiment, beseiged [sic] by the insurgent Boers. The Conch schooner, Wm. Bell Master, under the Bluff has the troops on board and in tow, the Boers are firing upon them from the land
