    Proposal Description
Mapungubwe is experiencing unprecedented security challenges, which has now necessitated that appropriate action be urgently taken. One of our camps (Vhembe Trails Camo) has been constantly subjected to criminal activities, which may soon threaten the guests booked at the locality. Addressing the ongoing security concerns is not only important, but very urgent as well considering the upcoming festive season, during which out we would have high occupation rate at our accommodation facilities within the park.

SANParks has decided to put six guard houses at Tshugulu Lodge, Limpopo Forest Tent, entrance to Mazhou loop, Leokwe Rest Camp, Vhembe Trails Camp, and the Confluence area. These will be occupied by security officers around the clock. The structure of the guard house is as follows:
    1.) Ground coverage = 2.9m x 2.4m.
    2.) Height = 2.6m.
3.) Colour: They are made in white. The Park is planning to paint them heritage green.

There shall be no digging involved for these structures. Rather, the structures shall be positioned on top of small cement slabs. There might be instances where it becomes necessary to level the ground at a selected site - but this would be kept to the minimal.

Early in the new year, after the festive season, SANParks will provide SAHRA will the necessary details relating to the electrification of the five structures. In addition, there shall be a need for sewerage facilities at each of the same five structures. The sixth structure will be placed on an existing footprint, where the existing building will be demolished. There is already electricity and sewerage facilities at this location - entrance to the Mazhou loop.
