    Proposal Description
The Naboom Mining Company (Pty) Ltd is the holder of a Mining Right (LP 198 MR) on a portion of the remaining extent and a portion of portion 4 of the farm Voorspoed 458 KS, in the Lepelle-Nkumpi Local Municipality & Capricorn District Municipality, Limpopo Province. The proposed mining operations are situated adjacent to Lebowakgomo and Makurung, off the R579 road.

The initial EIA and EMPr was compiled in 2011, with the layout and information available. The Naboom Mining Company has since refined the activities associated with the mining activities and the layout. Therefore, Naboom Mining Company proposes to update the EMPr with the new layout, activities, as well as new specialist studies related environmental aspects and associated mitigation measures and recommendations.

The proposed mining operations will consist of an opencast pit, overburden / waste rock and ROM stockpiling and associated activities. The mine also proposes to establish a chrome spiral wash plant and PGM concentrator plant and associated facilities such as a tailings storage facility, product stockpiles and return water dam.

This amendment does not increase the footprint of the project from the footprint approved in terms of the existing EMPr / EA, i.e. 450 ha. Thus no additional negative impacts are expected above those identified in the 2011 EIA.
